About Louise Higgins

Louise Higgins is an Irish author, designer, and illustrator who crafts books straight from the heart. For over 15 years, she channelled her creativity into a successful career as an award-winning interior designer and interiors columnist, before she was diagnosed with a series of health conditions. This led her to take stock of her life, and she stepped back from her job as an interior designer to focus on what was important to her: health, family, and friends.

Thankfully, Louise returned to the blank page to explore her lifelong love of writing and discovered a beautiful new canvas for her creativity. Today, Louise handles both the writing and illustrating of all her books, blending visual artistry with the power of the written word.

Now Louise writes and illustrates heart-warming books for children and witty short reads for adults. Louise’s self-published children's books include 'Dreams Do Come True', an adoption tale of love, perseverance and a forever home (based on her own experience of adopting her daughter from Vietnam) and a book series called 'The Adventures of Snuggles the Magic Unicorn Bunny'.

In addition, Louise likes to write witty, uplifting short reads for adults that reflect her love of Irish heritage, friendships and good banter. Louise believes a sprinkle of humour can help people through the most difficult times, and this is reflected in her books. Louise’s published works in this sector include: 'Pause, Applause, Menopause', 'Oh Shit', 'Irish Sayings, Blessings and Proverbs that Touch the Heart' and 'Mammy Knows Best'.

Louise lives in Ireland with her husband and two children - her greatest achievement.
